Photoacoustic Imaging

A novel non-invasive photon imaging method

Detailed Consultation

Description

Photoacoustic imaging is a new non-invasive photonic imaging method that can be used to detect and diagnose diseases, and observe the structure and function of biological tissues. Its physical basis is the photoacoustic effect in biological tissues. When the imaging sample is irradiated with short laser pulses, the irradiated tissue or substance absorbs the light energy, causing thermoelastic expansion, which leads to the instantaneous expansion and contraction of the surrounding medium, generating ultrasound waves that propagate to and are received in the tissue surface. Through further signal processing, the initial acoustic pressure signal is reconstructed. Photoacoustic imaging combines the imaging depth of ultrasound with the high contrast and high resolution of optical imaging, allowing for the high-depth, high-contrast, and high-resolution imaging of biological tissues.

Solution

The Opolite series of tunable pulsed solid-state lasers independently developed by Beamtech Optronics Co., Ltd. covers wavelengths from the visible to the near-infrared spectrum. The quick wavelength switching and scanning capability meets the requirements of photoacoustic imaging systems. Additionally, our company's 1,064 nm Nd Q-switched lasers and 755 nm Alexandrite Q-switched lasers are suitable for specific photoacoustic imaging system requirements.
