Ti:sapphire Pumping

Ti:sapphire Pumping

One of the main application directions of solid-state lasers

Detailed Consultation

Description

The Ti:sapphire pumping  femtosecond laser is one of the primary applications of Nd:YAG (or Nd:YLF) solid-state lasers. It uses continuous or pulsed 532 nm or 527 nm green light to excite the Ti:sapphire crystal, causing particle transitions and generating a Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser. A basic TW-level Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser amplification device generally consists of five parts: the oscillator, stretcher, regenerative amplifier, main amplifier, and compressor. In some applications, ultrafast lasers require very high energy. Therefore, the main amplifier needs several joules, even tens of joules or hundreds of joules of 532 nm pump light (SGR series/SGR-Extra series/Melar series) to obtain a high-energy ultrafast femtosecond laser. Additionally, Beamtech’s high-frequency kHz Tolar-527 series lasers can be used as pump sources for the regenerative amplifier of femtosecond laser pulses.

The absorption peak of a Ti:sapphire crystal is in the blue-green wavelength range. Several models of our lasers (output energy 20 mJ-100 J) can be used to pump Ti:sapphire CPA systems.

Solution

The Tolar-527 is a dioded-pumped all-solid-state green laser with an output wavelength of 527nm, a repetition rate of 1 kHz, and output energy of 20–60 mJ. It features a high repetition rate, good beam mode, and high conversion efficiency, making it suitable for pumping the regenerative amplification stage of Ti:sapphire CPA systems to achieve mJ-level Ti:sapphire output.

The Dawa series is a flashlamp-pumped solid-state laser with an output wavelength of 532 nm, a repetition rate of 10 Hz, and output energy of 50–200 mJ. It is characterized by high beam quality, high energy stability, and compact size, making it suitable for pumping the regenerative amplification stage of CPA systems.

Similar to the Dawa series, the Nimma, SGR, and SGR-Extra series are all flashlamp-pumped Nd:YAG lasers with an output wavelength of 532 nm. The Nimma series has a repetition rate of 10 Hz and output energy of 200–480 mJ, making it suitable for pumping the booster amplification stage of CPA systems. The SGR series has a repetition rate of 10 Hz, output energy of 500 mJ–3 J, and an optional single longitudinal mode seed injection function, making it suitable for pre-amplification stage pumping to achieve TW-level Ti:sapphire output. The SGR-Extra series has a single output of 5 J at 10 Hz, 8 J at 5 Hz, or 15 J at 1 Hz at 532 nm, and dual-output mode options, making it suitable for pumping the main amplification stage of CPA systems to achieve hundred-TW-level femtosecond laser pulse output.

The Melar series is a high-energy Nd:Glass system with an output wavelength of 527 nm, a repetition rate of 10–20 minutes per shot, output energy of 10–100 J, and dual-output options, making it suitable for pumping the main amplification stage of PW-level CPA systems. Three Melar systems have been successfully installed for CPA pumping. Additionally, the Melar series can be equipped with a single-frequency square wave seed source for OPCPA system pumping.
